DANIEL DAINES

Hey there, I’m Daniel and I am a poet from London.

I have enjoyed creative writing for as long as I can remember. I began writing poetry in my teens, focusing on love and infatuation. These poems that speak of one-sided crushes and teenage angst helped me through some difficult times, and eventually came together to form A Phase of Fixation which was published in 2015.

It was at this point that I started to see poetry as something beyond a coping mechanism and began writing poems based on self-improvement and viewing life in a more positive manner. These formed Zenith, published in 2016.

After years of practice, my poetry soon became acquainted with ‘space vibes’ when writing Golden Gravity in 2020. Using this as a bridge, my poems explore a range of themes, including love, mental health, and modern society.

In 2021, I released The Odyssey Anthology, a book that contained every poem from my first three books as well as 50+ poems I had written along the way.

I have had a lot of fun with the space theme and, at the end of 2023, decided to expand up this. A lot of my spoken word poems were leaning towards the horror angle (my personal favourite is Who We Are in the Shadows) and this is something I was dying to dive deeper into.

So, now in my UNMASK THE UNKNOWN era, I explore the questions that keep us up at night, focusing on space, the mind, death, and the supernatural.

I hope you enjoy reading/watching my poems as much as I enjoy writing them. For the latest pieces, keep an eye on my socials:
