The way you behave on Instagram reflects the response from your followers.

Bot-like actions include following for followers, generic commenting, and spam liking/tagging. These methods will likely give you a response (i.e. follows, likes, and comments on your posts). But the quality of these will be poor. In most cases, the followers you receive are on a “follow for follow” basis, and aren’t interested in your content. Some people are fine with this, as they only care about numbers. But if you want to engage your audience, you need to act like a human.

Acting like a human on Instagram includes following accounts that interest you. Commenting on posts in a conversational tone is good practice too. This is the difference between playing for numbers and being part of an online community.
